The newest spring element to emerge was the terrific chorus of western chorus frogs today! We had a great variety of birds this morning along with a great variety of photographers so make sure to view the slide show. Robins were quite prevalent this morning as they have been for the last few weeks. I love those things.

Most of us did not get to see the rail well, but we all stood by the cattails and were serenaded with nearby loud calls. You could see the reeds moving as the rail walked along (with occasional glimpses). It was wonderful to listen to this bird and anticipate a possible sighting.
