Social Media Brings Articles to a Broad Audience

Two years ago, we started promoting our articles through Social Media, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Podcasts. Some scientists use our social media to keep in touch with the broader neuroscience literature. News outlets and blogs use our posts to find "hot topics" to relay to the public.

Below are some examples of our articles being highlighted through social media and blogs.

Social Media Policies

These are the strategies we use to highlight articles through social media:

We provide 1-2 posts per day about our articles via Facebook, as well as 1-2 tweets per day via Twitter.
We notify the corresponding author when their article is highlighted.
When possible, we add a link to the authors' institution, to increase "local visibility."
Authors may request that we post their article to social media, by emailing the Editor-in-Chief.
We will publicize any posting about an article we have published; just forward the link to the Editor.

Point-Counterpoint on Statistical Analysis

In a recent Letter to the Editor, Martin Héroux pointed out problems in the statistical reporting of data in some of our articles. Read this letter, and the response from the Editor-in-Chief, about our strategies to increase rigor and reproducibility of data in articles.

Meet the Editors: Conny Kopp-Scheinpflug

Conny Kopp-Scheinpflug is a Research group leader at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany. Her lab uses the mammalian auditory system as a model and applies a variety of electrophysiological, anatomical and optogenetic techniques to study how hyper- or hypo-stimulation leads to acquisition/loss of function. Conny contributes to the editorial team expertise on auditory function, cellular neurophysiology, and neuromodulation.

Live Now! Direct Submission from bioRxiv

You can now directly submit manuscripts to the Journal of Neurophysiology through the preprint server bioRxiv. Such transfers remove the burden of reentering metadata in our editorial system.
