The County Health Services Agency is
continually striving to offer the best health services to our community. In their latest effort they are seeking a new designation - public health
accreditation
.
The goal of the public health accreditation program is to improve and protect the health of the public by advancing the quality and performance of health departments.
About half the U.S. population is now covered by an accredited public health department. Accreditation helps measure
health department performance against a set of nationally recognized, practice-focused and evidence-based standards.
In order for our Health Department to be successful, it must be constantly engaged with our community. Therefore, as the County begins the process of seeking public health accreditation, the Health Services Agency invites the public to consider questions about what makes a community healthy and what role can residents play in ensuring a healthy community. You are invited to provide input on how to support the most efficient and effective public health system.
Please join me and the Health Services Agency on October 13th at the Sheriff's Service Center. To find out more about the Public Health accreditation process, click here.
