Education to Everyone
An idea conceived out of the frustration of a University of Louisville resident who missed an important faculty lecture because he had to care for a patient, has developed into an online sensation that has published over 100 lectures and has garnered just short of 700,000 lecture views since January 2014. LouisvilleLectures.org is the brainchild of founder and managing director Michael J. Burk, M.D., chief medical resident at UofL.  Read what he has to say about this open-access website with the goal of providing free internal medicine education to everyone.
 

Kentucky Transition to Federal Exchange - What to Expect    

The Kentucky State-based health insurance exchange known as kynect - initially created with a federal grant and funded by a 1 percent tax on all insurance policies sold in the state - will transition to a federal exchange in 2017.   This article includes important dates and information doctors can provide to their patients. 


Laflin Named Director of Membership Services


Amber Laflin has been named KMA Director of Member Services. She is in charge of KMA's membership efforts, manages the KMA database system, oversees the House of Delegates and works with KMA's Physician Workforce Commission and the Young Physicians and Physicians-In-Training Commission. Laflin replaced Diane Lundbom, who retired after 28 years of service to KMA.
