About Betsy's Fund

At PARL, we believe that every animal's life has value. Whether they come to us young or old, friendly or shy, healthy or sick-- they all deserve a good home.

Sometimes animals brought to us require critical medical care beyond our daily resources. In response to this need, PARL created Betsy's Fund.

This fund was established to provide extra care to adoptable animals in need. This includes medications, surgery, and treatment.

By giving to Betsy's Fund, you have the opportunity to give a second chance to animals who require medical care, surgery and other treatment before they can be adopted.

Cherie Needs Your Help!

Cherie is the sweetest "Pocket Pittie" you'll ever meet. At a mere 36lbs and 8 years of age she recently found herself stray and homeless.

We were more than happy to give her safe haven but upon exam, realized that her teeth were in very poor condition. Over the last two weeks our medical staff has done everything they can for her but we have reached the point where she needs more medical attention than we can provide. Our Veterinarian recommended that she see a specialist as soon as possible.

This week, Cherie was taken to Tufts V.E.T.S. for a dental consultation. It was determined that her teeth are just too far gone to save and almost all of them will need to be removed.  Immediate action will need to be taken in order to prevent further infection and provide Cherie with a pain-free life.  The surgery alone is expected to cost over $1,275, and so PARL is turning to our loyal supporters to lend a hand.

Cherie needs your help!  You can help provide the urgent medical care she needs, and help other animals with medical emergencies at PARL, by giving to Betsy's Fund.  Betsy's Fund was specially formed so that PARL can give every animal immediate medical attention, regardless of the cost.  PARL relies on support from the public for this fund to exist.

Since 1913, The Providence Animal Rescue League (PARL) has been providing critical programs and services to the people and animals in our community. PARL is a non-profit organization (501c3) and receives no federal or state funding and rely solely on donations from generous individuals, businesses and foundations to support its work to provide compassionate care, medical treatment and adoption services to thousands of animals each year.
