Important Schedule Changes -  Oct.19 and 20!
Tuesday, October 11, 2016

After further review and consideration, we have decided to make modifications to the previously announced schedule for Wednesday, October 19 (PSAT Testing Day) and Thursday, October 20.

Wednesday, October 19
Seniors, Sophomores (who are not taking the PSAT) and Freshman students
  • All LFHS students who are not talking the PSAT test on October 19,
will start school at 12:10pm. This is a change from the originally announced schedule. School will end at 3:20pm.
All Juniors and Sophomores (who elected to take the PSAT)
This information remains the same as previously announced for PSAT testing on Wednesday, October 19.
  • Testing will begin at 8:15 am. Students must be seated in their designated location by no later than 8:15am to take the test. Students riding the bus will need to take the early bus to arrive on time.

  • Students with standard testing time will be administered the test in the field house. Those with accommodations will test in the Library classrooms (located on the first floor).

  • Students must bring their Student ID, #2 pencils with erasers, and an approved calculator. Cell phones and food are not allowed in the testing area. For a list of approved calculators please visit the  College Board website here.

  • At the end of the exam, test-taking students will have the opportunity to go to the cafeteria for lunch. Students will rejoin the instructional day for their regular class schedules at 12:10pm. Students will follow this modified class schedule. School will end at 3:20pm.
Thursday, October 20 - All Students

School will start at a normal time (9:00am). Early Bird classes and PLT will occur as usual.

All students will follow this modified class schedule on Thursday, October 20
.

School will end at 3:20pm and all bus transportation will run on its regular schedule.

Why did we revise the plan?
Our changes to the schedule will ensure:
  • No student will miss a class due to testing and all classes will meet. In the previous proposal, all juniors and 170 sophomores would miss some of their classes due to testing.
  • Wednesday and Thursday will remain "block days" with periods being 60 minutes, rather than 80 minutes.
  • School will end at 3:20pm on both days, allowing athletics and activities to proceed as usual.
We are committed to being open and responsive to implementing the best options for our kids and to providing transparent communication regarding our decision-making. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate the changes to our new school-day schedule and strive to to support our students in the best way possible!
