You may have seen papers coming home with first and second graders about the Global Read Aloud.  This is a global project that involves over 900,000 students across the world reading the same books over the month of October and then making connections with each other to discuss the books.  Our focus author is Laura Castillo.  Students have already collaborated with schools in Massachusetts, Illinois, and our very own Wilson Elementary.  We use various digital tools to connect.  For more information on this project visit the GRA website.  The students love breaking down the physical walls of Summit and seeing how literature connects us all.
Join the PTA by 10/28!
All PTA Members receive a copy of the school directory. Make sure you get your membership in before the end of the month in ensure you get your copy!!

The first class to get to 100% participation or the closest to it by the end of October will get a Krispy Kreme Donut party!

You can  submit your dues using our online form below or submit a paper form and send in a check or cash with your student. Use this form to submit your information and send it in with payment in an envelope marked "PTA Membership"

We are excited to introduce 9United!
9United strives to helps kids and families learn what it looks like and sounds like to be in service by organizing and communicating authentic, developmentally appropriate service projects that impact the lives of our students, families, neighbors and community. In addition, with the help of our school counselors, we hope to “fill the gap” that we all know exists in our schools. How can we be generous with our time, talent and treasure to those in our very own neighborhoods that are in need throughout the school year? Working together we know we can make a difference. Be on the lookout for opportunities to help us grow service-minded students by serving in your community throughout the year. Help us help our kids learn the many ways we can serve others. We are excited to be launching our 8 th Annual Shop & Share school-wide service project mid-November. Last year, because of YOUR generosity, we were able to help brighten the holidays for more than 25 Forest Hills school families and over 300 families in the Greater Cincinnati area through our partnership with Beech Acres Parenting Center.
