As they improve their literacy skills, they're not just learning how to read, they're learning to love to read!  No program charge, registration is required.

Miss Muffet or What Came After
Miss Jane recommends Miss Muffet or What Came After by Marilyn Singer

Everyone knows Little Miss Muffet had a frightful run-in with a spider, but what happened after that? Well, poet Marilyn Singer tells the rhyming tale of Miss Muffet, aka Patience, and her on-the-road adventure with Webster (the spider).   Miss Muffet or What Came After unfolds like a theatre piece, complete with stage directions and a chorus. We learn about her mother's narrow expectations and her father's love of bugs. We also learn that Patience is not just a girl who sits on a tuffet. No, we got that wrong. This is a girl with a big dream! Children will enjoy hearing this imaginative sequel to the nursery rhyme and parents will be tickled to read it to them.
Miss Muffet or What Came After is wonderfully and whimsically illustrated by David Litchfield.
