CELEBRATING OUR IMAGINATIONS
The CCISD Department of the Visual and Performing Arts sponsored a day filled with activities for elementary-aged children and their families at Imagination Celebration 2016. This free event engages and inspires students' creative side through arts-and-crafts and music stations staffed by CCISD teachers. They also enjoyed a special performance by the honor choir which is made up of 5th grade students from across all CCISD elementary schools. 
MARCHING EXTRAVA-BAND-ZA
Marching bands from all five comprehensive CCISD high schools joined together for a night of music and entertainment at Challenger Columbia Stadium for this year's Marching Extrava-Band-Za. Each band performed their competition shows for family and friends in preparation for the Region UIL competition on October 22. Seventh and 8th grade bands also joined the high schools on the field for a special performance. Click here to watch the full event.
INTRODUCING THE NEW & IMPROVED CBHS
Clear Brook High School hosted a tour for staff and community members to highlight the major renovation of the school as part of the 2013 Bond. Students proudly showed-off the long list of improvements on campus which includes a new Robotics lab, a special education wing, a new auditorium and updates to the athletics area. The tour ended with a special ceremony recognizing Clear Lake Regional Medical Center for its generous donation of the da Vinci Surgical Robot for the school's robotics program.
ROBONAUTS BUILD NIGHT
The CCISD Robonauts team held a special workshop for 4th and 5th grade girls to spark their interest in STEM. They spent the night participating in team-building and STEM-related activities with the members of the Robonauts team.

HYDE CORE VALUES RALLY
Hyde Elementary students celebrated their core values by hosting a special pep rally. Students with perfect attendance were recognized, and a "Student of Character" was chosen from each class. These students got to then participate in a fun "Wrap the Teacher" game while the rest of their peers cheered them on. The teachers from each grade level also introduced the Core Values Spirit Sticks they made which will be earned by classes who are nominated each week for demonstrating one of the six values.
KNIGHTS WITH CHARACTER
Clear Falls High School health science clinical rotation students exhibited citizenship by thanking deputies with homemade sweets for their service to the school and for keeping students safe.
BAUERSCHLAG DINNER WITH DADS
The Bauerschlag Elementary PTA "Poppa Bears" grilled and the student council helped serve almost 500 hot dogs to dads and their children for their annual dinner with dads event.

CLEAR SPRINGS MIXES IT UP
The junior class officers at Clear Springs High School held the inagural "First Thursday" event last week. Students received different flavored lollipops as they entered the cafeteria and were encouraged to 'Mix It Up' at lunch by sitting with new friends who received the same colored lollipop. These inclusive and welcoming activities brought the students together to promote respecting each other.
