NEED HELP
SATURDAY

Senior Wish List

Suing Bad
Nursing Homes
Dear We Are Family/NWSH/Positive Force DC friends,
At top, some of the amazing volunteers who did a mountain of work without enough back up--SUPERHEROES ALL!; the aforementioned, putting their back in it--great work, one and all! :-)

Dear We Are Family friends,

First, HEARTFELT THANKS to the two dozen wonderful volunteers from Privia Health who assembled 600+ grocery bags Wednesday--you all are WAF superheroes, doing so much! We are now set for grocery bags for the month, hooray!

HOWEVER, WE HAVE AN EMERGENCY CLEANING MISSION THIS SATURDAY,
Oct. 8th, 1-4pm... a longtime senior of ours is in trouble, and might lose her housing unless we are able to get a lot done before October 13th. WRITE MARK at wearefamilydc@gmail.com if you can help, OK? HE'LL EXPLAIN MORE, HELP IS DESPERATELY NEEDED... THANKS for whatever you can do!

If Saturday can't work, no worries... there are a lot of other ways to help... see below a senior wish list of special needs.

1. Shaw senior needs a queen size mattress

2. North Capitol senior needs a dryer in good shape

3. North Capitol senior needs a kitchen table and chairs

4.Columbia Heights senior wants someone to play Scrabble

5.North Capitol senior needs someone to help to pay bills

6.North Capitol senior who was assaulted needs a ride to St. Stephen's church services and communal meal Sunday nights

7. Trinidad senior needs someone to come by no more than 30 minutes,   1-3 days a week (weather permitting, of course) to go for a walk to get/keep her circulation moving.

Just let Mark know if you might be able to help with any of these, OK? Again, THANKS!

Finally, please see article below about how the law has recently changed to help protect seniors in nursing homes, and make the nursing homes more accountable and safe.

THANKS TO YOU ALL... we can't do it w/out you!

all our love,
Mark, Tulin and family
