State law requires each person elected or appointed for the first time to a position of a municipality to attend an institute for municipal officials. The NOI teaches the statutorily required topics such as Municipal Budget Requirements, the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act, the Oklahoma Open Records Act, Ethics, Procedures for Conducting Meetings, Conflict of Interest, and Purchasing Procedures

CLD Class 5 Discovers "It's A Great Day To Be In Enid!"
The CLD Class was in Enid for Session 4 where in addition to learning about Community Leadership they toured the new Wastewater Treatment Facility, attended a reception at Leonardo's Children's Museum & Adventure Quest hosted by Myers Engineering and had dinner at Napoli's Italian Restaurant. Thank you to Mayor Shewey and the City of Enid for hosting this event!

"If I Were Mayor..." Essay Contest Entries Being Accepted

Essays must be received no later than December 16, 2016
The Mayors Council of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Municipal League invite 8th graders from home schools, public schools and private schools throughout Oklahoma to participate in a statewide essay contest, "If I Were Mayor, I Would ..." to tell others what they would do as mayor to make their city or town a better place to live.
