Hello All! I hope this edition of Block Talk finds each of you happy, healthy and your business is booming. I cannot believe we are already in October, but what an exciting month for the TAA. This month we are hosting the 1st Annual TEXAS LONE STAR OPEN!! If you are not familiar with this event let me explain.

On October 28th starting at 11:00 AM auctioneers from across the country will compete in a Bid Calling only contest. That's right, no interviews or questions asked, just simply a contest based on auction chant. We have chosen 4 veteran judges (John Korrey, Terrell Coleman, Joe Don Pouge, Joe Litchie) will crown the next champion. There will be four finalist - the three top scoring places will return for the final showdown, as well as a WILDCARD pick that the judges will decide on for the 4th spot. First place will be crowned the LONE STAR OPEN CHAMPION and will receive $3500 prize! 2nd and 3rd place will pay as well.

The contest will be held in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards, (Fort Worth Cowtown Coliseum) in conjunction with the Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering.

If you haven't entered yet there is still time to do so!!! I cannot stress enough what an important role entering contests has played in my career. Win or lose I have always learned something from another contestant or about myself when participating. The friends I have made over the years and the comradery amongst your peers is something truly special. So take the plunge! Fill out the registration form!
