TAA Hall of Fame Inductee and Past President: Jim Sample
Unfortunately, we have received word that Jim Sample passed away on October 3rd.
Jim attended the Walter Britton Auction School in 1981 and pursued his passion as an auctioneer and became a member of the Texas Auctioneers Association (TAA) in 1982. During his time with TAA, he earned the status of Senior Champion Auctioneer in 2003 as well as being awarded the Presidents Leadership Award in that same year, was inducted into the TAA Hall of Fame in 2010 and served as Board President in 2011-2012. Jim also served on various committees during his time with TAA including the Advisory Board with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation assisting in legislation for auctioneers. Jim was instrumental in helping create the TAA Green Book for Auctioneers as well as assisting in the creation of House Bill No. 135 which dealt with the requirements of an auctioneers license.
