Health Literacy Hero: Dr. Glenda Knight
October is Health Literacy Month, an appropriate time to recognize our very own Health Literacy Hero, Glenda Knight, PhD, MPH, CHES. Co-Chair of DCAC since 2013, Dr. Knight carries the torch to raise awareness about the importance of effective communication in all matters affecting health.
Recently, she gave a presentation to the incoming class of medical students at Morehouse School of Medicine about how health care professionals can improve the effectiveness of patient-provider communication by expressing empathy, promoting trust, and initiating dialogue.
