CSM PARENTS!!

Welcome to the month of October! Can you believe that we are in the full fall swing? Everything pumpkin is on sale in stores and leaves are beginning to turn. It's a wonderful time of year! Also, I can assume that you and your children are getting into a good groove at school now. As we continue to hit our stride this month, be sure to read through this newsletter to see all that we have going on in Student Ministries.

OCTOBER TEACHING SCHEDULE
It's easy to see life's problems as traps that are unavoidable, but God invites us to break free--we don't have to be trapped! During the month of October we have a 5-week study on the book of Jeremiah called "Break Free: how to avoid life's temptations." While the book of Jeremiah is one of judgment it is also offers hope and provision as well. Throughout this series we will have some great practical ways students can Break Free from their sin. See the teaching schedule below.

Hoedown
HOEDOWN | INVITE NIGHT
On Friday, October 28th we will have our annual CSM Hoedown! The Hoedown is a fun and energetic fall event for the students. We will have dinner, square dancing (called by a professional) and some redneck games! It will be a fun evening that we know all the students will enjoy. The evening will run from 6-10pm.

There are a few things we encourage students to bring to the Hoedown. First, all students are encouraged to bring their non-churched friends. This is a great opportunity for them to get to know other students in the youth group and to go to church. Second, we encourage the students to come dressed up in costume. They don't have to dress country, but whatever they want (there will be prizes for creative costumes). We only ask they don't dress in anything super creepy or inappropriate. Lastly, we ask that boys bring chili for dinner and girls bring dessert. We look forward to seeing them then!

TwoServices
TWO SERVICES
This Sunday, October 16th, Concord Church will make the shift to two services. Services will be at 9:00am and 10:45am. For student ministry we will meet at 10:45am for small groups. The extra time on Sunday morning will be a big help in allowing our students to interact and respond to God's Word. We hope that you and your family will find the two services helpful in connecting, growing and serving at Concord Church!
