What great news from Provost Perry on Dr. Phillip Boiselle's appointment as our new dean! As promised, YOU heard it first. For me, this completes a series of promises to you all of which were based upon a pledge to find and attract the best possible person to become your next dean and to keep you fully informed every step of the way. "A promise made is a promise kept."
I cannot imagine a better person to become your next dean; I know Dr. Boiselle will work hard with you to accomplish many good things.
For me, the "transition" has begun and is now my most important responsibility. I will assure that it is complete, seamless and transparent. I regret any resemblance of this remark to the current presidential campaign, but he WILL be ready on Day One!
There is lots of time left for thanks and goodbyes -- so no need for any of that now -- but, I cannot allow this moment to go by without thanking each and every one of you for all of the support and enthusiasm you gave the search process. It meant so much to all of the candidates and, of course, to me.
