Doctor's Tip for the week

The Facts About Pinkeye

The symptoms can be pretty hard to miss. See the best way to treat this common infection.

Pinkeye -- also called conjunctivitis -- is redness and inflammation of the clear membranes covering the whites of the eyes and the membranes on the inner part of the eyelids.

Parenting Tip for the week

8 Icky Things Kids Do

Parents of nose pickers, scab scratchers, and pole lickers unite: All kids do gross stuff.

Childhood and boogers seem to go hand and hand. Scan any room full of kids, and there's a good chance you'll see at least one "digging for gold." Even grosser? They often wipe the treasure they find on the nearest surface, or eat it.

News From LTA
View From The Front
Hello Families,

This week the classrooms are learning about Pumpkins - how appropriate for this time of year! Pumpkins are a true symbol for Fall. We all love to visit pumpkin patches, carve pumpkins, and make pumpkin goodies. There are many activities that the kids can use pumpkins to stimulate their learning experiences. They can count pumpkin seeds, discuss whether the pumpkin is a fruit or vegetable, and do sensory exploration with the filling inside the pumpkin. Parents, be prepared to have pumpkin overload!

The Fall Festival is finally here! Please join us this Saturday from 10-12 for fun, games, and food. If you have signed up for the Bake Sale or to bring in any Fall Festival items, please bring them in this week by Friday!

Have a wonderful week!

Announcements
Proposal for a memorial for Ms. Ruth
Former LTA parents,Tricia and William Gwinn, whose two daughters graduated from LTA over the past few years are proposing to setup a "buddy bench" in the Preschool playground. A buddy bench is a bench that if a child is sitting on it alone, it is a signal to the other kids to ask him or her to play. They are looking for support from other parents whose life Ms Ruth has touched as much as she has touched theirs. Their letter is attached: Buddy Bench.

Fall Festival
For those who are new to LTA or may not have come to our annual Fall celebration in earlier years - here are some pictures from prior years to help you prepare for this event: Fall Festival 2015 and 2014. Halloween costumes are optional but highly encouraged. Please also feel free to invite your family, friends, and neighbors, who may have small children who would love this party!
