TRIG Best Practices  Apple Professional Learning  Grant
2016-2017

Apply Now! Deadline is October 30, 2016

The TRIG Best Practice Apple Professional Learning Grant has been created to assist schools wishing to pursue professional learning opportunities for educators who are transforming their digital learning environments.

The Grant is open to schools/cohorts that are executing planned, learning environments and wish to enhance and create a culture of learning. Eligible Districts must have purchased from the TRIG Apple Device Purchasing Agreement within the past 4 years and have regular and consistent student access to Apple technology.

Selected schools/districts will work with a dedicated Apple Professional Learning Specialist, to create a personalized and targeted professional learning plan that aligns to district/building level instructional goals. The plan will identify a cohort of 6-12 educators as the focus of the professional learning plan to receive ongoing targeted coaching and mentoring.

Selected applicants will receive  job embedded coaching and mentoring in an ongoing cadence focused on fostering innovative learning and teaching through a strategy that provides professional learning for educators over time. This approach reflects our belief that transformation happens best through a series of targeted coaching and mentoring sessions that center on enhancing instructional practice.

Apple Professional Learning changes the approach from one of traditional professional development workshops to a personalized, highly engaging offering that meets the needs of educators. Our Apple Professional Learning Specialists - all former educators, start by meeting with administrators to discuss goals and assess needs. They then engage with faculty regularly through scheduled instructional coaching, mentoring, and support. This customized approach gives educators the skills they need to integrate technology effectively and to make learning environments even more inspiring.

A Dedicated Professional Learning Specialist will work with award winners to deliver this plan, with the timeline commencing on Award through September 30, 2017. Additionally, one qualified individual from each selected applicant will be eligible to apply to attend the Summer 2017 Trig Best Practices Academy which upon completion will result in authorization as an Apple Education Trainer (AET) within their own district. The Apple Education Trainer program authorizes select K-12 individuals to deliver Apple Professional Learning content to educators. Once authorized, Apple Education Trainers can help educators curate, create, and publish digital learning materials with Apple products.
