OUR NEW LOOK
"Wow-How did you get so many items in here?"

"I am so happy to still find my favorite products here.  No one else carries them!"

"The store looks fantastic!"

These customer reactions are now common at our newly refocused Paris-Madrid Grocery.   If you haven't been in since August, stop in - you'll be amazed at the transformation!

We're now settled in and replenishing our inventory.   Let us know if there is something you can't find... if we don't have it, we'll try to get it.
Newly restocked this week is Piri-Piri sauce.   Piri-Piri is a fiery Portuguese condiment that spices up chicken or shrimp dishes.    Add it to scrambled eggs, sautéed greens, or any recipe that needs a bit of heat.   But go cautiously at first if you're new to Piri-Piri, as it's a serious hot sauce!

WINE
We now have a few of our best-selling, under-$9.00 Spanish wines back in stock, including staff favorite Borsao Tinto.  Easy on the wallet, these wines are balanced and quaffable, perfect for a big party, or sipping on a weeknight.

2009 Viña Eguia Reserva Rioja ($12.99)    Viña Eguia Reserva is a pleasure to drink, and a wine that over delivers for the price.  With savory red fruit aromas, it is a traditional, earthy style Rioja.  Lifted cherry-plum fruit flavors have hints of vanilla and cigar box spice notes.   Medium-bodied with silky tannins and hints of mushroom, the dry finish lingers on the palate.  It pairs wonderfully with paella.  A stunning value!

2014 Zabalia Languedoc Rouge Cuvée Kermit Lynch ($12.99)  Kermit Lynch's 40+ years of working with French vigerons has resulted in a portfolio of amazing farmer wines that are honest and show a sense of place.   The Languedoc Rouge Cuvee is delicious example of Kermit's style of wine and it's a downright steal.  Made by Jean-Claude Zabalia of Château des Deux Rocs, it is 60% Syrah, 30% Grenache, 5% Cinsault, 5% Carignan.   The fruit is sourced from two vineyards of different soils - Cabrières (Schist) and Terrasses du Larzac (clay-limestone), fermentated in stainless steel tank with light pumpovers.   Each parcel and grape variety are vinified separately; 70% is aged in stainless steel tank, 30% in wood ( foudre,   demi-muid, barrel) .   Harmoniously integrated red and black fruit notes are well-balanced with great mouthfeel.  Only slightly discernably oak flavors compliment the gorgeous fruit flavors.  Medium-bodied, bright, it has a clean finish and is really good.   Great for sipping or pair with charcuterie.

2014 Volver La Mancha Tempranillo, La Mancha   92 points, only $14.99!  3000 CASES MADE-QUANTITIES LIMITED.  A single vineyard Tempranillo produced from low-yielding old vines, planted in 1957.  At 2112 feet in elevation, the Finca los Juncares vineyard has extreme daytime summer heat with cool nights, preserving freshness in the wine.   Concentrated fruity aromas with subtle oak influences.   Powerful on the palate, this is a full-bodied and complex wine with black fruit, dust, and hints of oak.   " It is 100% Tempranillo aged 15 months in French oak and bottled unfiltered. It is a relatively small cuvée of 3,000 cases, but it's a stunning wine, with notes of unsmoked cigar tobacco, licorice and blackcurrants. This opaque purple-colored wine has a full-body, showing toasty notes intermixed with blackberry and cassis. It's a beauty - an internationally styled, modern version of Tempranillo to drink over the next 5-6 years. "    92 points Wine Advocate
