CONGRATS ANDREW HOFFMAN
On Tuesday, Garces junior, Andrew Hoffman, was honored by the Kern County Board of Supervisors for his Eagle Scout Project. Mrs. Dena Murphy, Director Kern County Department of Human Services, recognized Andrew for his amazing donation to the Jamison Center. For Andrew's Eagle Scout project, he collected 3,500 pieces of clothing for young children who are brought into the foster care system. Many of the children only have the clothes they are wearing. Before they can be placed with a foster family, they need a minimum of three outfits. Mrs. Murphy shared that thanks to Andrew's hard work and generosity of spirit, the Jamison Center has enough clothing to get them through the next 12-18 months. Andrew spoke to the Supervisors and explain that he was a foster child and was blessed to go to a wonderful home and wanted to support other children in the foster care system. Andrew thanked everyone who supported his project: his family, church, friends, and Garces High School. Andrew, your Garces Family is so so proud of you and the difference you are making in our community.
