At this year’s MIPCOM in Cannes, Variety Magazine will be shining a spotlight on Israel’s groundbreaking TV in a special “In Focus” editorial digging deep into what makes this country’s programs so identifiable as Israeli and yet so universally appealing.
Liberate Art, Inc. is honored to have worked as the Hollywood liaison for this exciting event which, according to CEO, Lana Melman, “ensures that the international television community will learn about the ideas, the players, the challenges and the potential of Israel’s television industry.”
MIPCOM, the largest event of its kind, is attended by representatives of television studios and broadcasters who use the event as a marketplace to buy and sell new programs and formats for international distribution. Attendees typically swell past 10,000 and international acquisition executives number in the thousands including 20% of would be digital buyers.
Variety Magazine is and has always been one of the most important and trusted providers of news and information to the entertainment industry. The editorial spotlight on Israel will appear in Variety’s MIPCOM print edition and will be available in a digital format to all their thousands of website subscribers and to everyone online. In addition, it will be seen by all of Variety’s 1.3 million Twitter followers.
“Variety is in an exceptional position to share this important perspective about Israel’s television industry with a key audience. Kudos to a publication synonymous with Hollywood itself,” said Melman, a leading expert and commentator on the cultural boycott effort against Israel, a Hollywood liaison, and a professional speaker and writer.
