The show has grown in size every year since being founded in 2009, and this year's show featured a record 340 new and pre-owned boats.The show continues to attract serious buyers and those that know what a great venue it is to find what they are looking for.
Survey results from exhibitors were very positive with an increasing number of new leads and sales reported, as well as positive feedback after the show.

MTA/NJ 20th Annual Invitational Golf Outing Highlights
The MTA/NJ's 20th Annual Invitational Golf Outing took place on October 4th at Sea Oaks Country Club in Little Egg Harbor, NJ. Once again, the proceeds from the outing benefited the MTA/NJ Education Foundation.
Golfers enjoyed some new enhancements this year, including warm-up tips with the pro, live music from The Mike Dalton Band, and a chance to win the new MTA/NJ Golf Cup!
The MTA/NJ Foundation has awarded nearly $20,000 in education scholarships over the last eight years to students interested in furthering their education and pursuing a career in the marine trades industry. In addition to the MTA/NJ Family Scholarship, the Education Foundation also helps our members with reimbursement for various training and certifications to help grow their workforce and businesses. This money goes directly to support our members. The MTA/NJ greatly appreciates everyone's support and participation at this year's event.

Attend MTA/NJ Happy Hour Networking Event
Thursday, October 20 at Viking Yachts, New Gretna
New Gretna to network, talk with fellow marine business owners and operators and receive important updates from the Association. These networking events are held in various locations around the state to provide members with a casual place to talk business, discuss industry issues, share ideas, meet with customers, obtain new business and see what the MTA/NJ is doing for you and your business. You can also enjoy a bite and drink at the same time. All of our members are welcome and invited to attend. Do you know someone who is not a member but should be? Invite them to join us too!
The event will include a dinner buffet and free beer, wine, and soft drinks. Attendees will also have the opportunity to discuss their concerns and ask questions, visit the MTA/NJ Resource Table, display their product information and distribute giveaways.
Your fellow MTA/NJ Member, Viking Yachts, has also provided the option to take a tour of the facility before and during the event.

Attend MTA/NJ Marine Shoot Off
Monday, November 7 at Red Wing Sporting Clays, Port Republic
Tune up your marksmanship with a round of sporting clays at Red Wing Sporting Clays Facility in Port Republic at the Eighth Annual MTA/NJ Marine Shoot Off. This annual event for the Association will be Monday, November 7, 2016 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Proceeds from the event will support the MTA/NJ PAC.
The event is open to novice and experienced shooters. Teams of four will compete on a sporting clay course. Once again, we will be shooting 100 targets straight-through on the course, so please plan your ammo accordingly. The MTA/NJ will place anyone who does not have a team of four into a group the day of shooting. Following the competition, a barbecue lunch will be served along with awards for the best team and best shooter. The cost is $75.00 per shooter.

The New Jersey Boat Sale & Expo will be held February 16-19, 2017 at the NJ Convention & Expo Center in Edison. All bulk space for the 2016 New Jersey Boat Sale & Expo is currently sold out. If you are interested in exhibiting, you may submit a contract to be placed on the bulk waiting list. There are a limited number of booths still available. Gas Tax Information
As reported, legislation was passed by both houses last week to reauthorization the Transportation Trust Fund which will be replenished by a 23-cent gas tax increase. The bill has not yet been signed by the Governor but we are working on obtaining additional information and clarification on the bill. In the meantime, we thought it would be helpful to share the following memo that was distributed by the Fuel Merchants Association.

MYMIC Training Technologies, a high tech learning and simulation training company and industry leader in safety training on many platforms, proudly announces the release of a new smartphone app designed to help marinas and boatyards with Equipment & Facility inspections.
Electronic Marine Equipment Checklist or eMEC is available on both Google Play and iTunes. Designed to aid marinas complete OSHA required daily inspections for forklifts & Travelifts, eMEC allows the user to scan a barcode, complete a machine specific safety check, and upload the record to cloud storage for retrieval at a later date as needed.
