On this Saturday before elections, it may comfort you to know that many of the birds we saw were on the fence and up in the air. We still have great fall color around, but much of it is in the grasses rather than the leaves now. Watch the slide show to view a very interesting track we found. I think it might be an otter track so if any of you have an opinion I would love to hear from you. WBCBoulderCO@aol.com. Thanks.

Unfortunately, when the group came back to the parking lot after the walk, many jumped in their cars and took off. Some of us stayed to look for the golden-crowned sparrow which has again set up its wintering area at Teller Farms. We did get a glimpse at the golden-crown and in the process; Jack Klase found a palm warbler. This bird was hanging around the tree just west of the root cellar. It spends much of its time hopping among the weeds. This was a great find, but sadly many of us missed seeing this bird. Go out this week and try to relocate it!
