Dear Parents,

Last Friday, October 7th, we celebrated our Grandparents' Day. It was a joyful time spent with our SCSS grandparents and extended family community. Our day began with a beautiful Mass followed by photos and classroom visits. This day will be a wonderful memory that the children will have forever. The hard work and commitment of many people in this community is why we are able to put events like this together.  I am truly thankful to everyone for all their support in making this day a huge success.  We now have 100 new books through the Adopt A Book Program for our SCSS library. We are very blessed by the generosity of all our grandparents!

Quote from Pope Francis:

"Children have the right to a healthy and secure family environment."

How poignant is this quote for today.  Grandparents play such a big part in keeping the family environment safe, healthy, and secure. Many grandparents help to take care of and raise their grandchildren.  I see many of them come everyday to St. Catherine's to drop off, pick up, read, and to volunteer.  It is a wonderful thing to see how God has blessed us with our families.

Faithfully Yours,

Miss Giaquinto

Nurse News From Mrs. Palko

Now that Autumn has arrived, please have your children wear coats and hats for the cooler, breezy days. We lose heat from our heads so a hat helps to keep us warm. Please remember to label your children's clothes for identification if lost.
