Long Beach Serves

...At the Heart of Volunteering in Long Beach

We are very excited to announce the launch of Long Beach Serves,

a month-long event that encourages every Long Beach resident to donate a few hours to volunteering.

"Of all the things that make Long Beach such a great city, the most important is our people," said Mayor Robert Garcia . "Volunteers generously donate their time, energy and expertise to help our community, and we greatly appreciate their service."

You can watch a fun video on our Facebook Page highlighting a volunteer event held last weekend at the El Dorado Nature Center.

The event will culminate on Make A Difference Day on October 22 with several events across the City.

Every child that participates in Operation Teddy Bear this year will receive a pencil sharpener and eraser combination thanks to the generosity of the Port of Long Beach. We can't wait to see the children's faces when they open up their school bags this year.

We Need Volunteers! Can You Help?

There are opportunities for groups to support Food for Kids and Operation Teddy Bear in the next month or so. Can you help us?

COLLATE FLASHCARDS: We plan to have flashcards delivered and we need help collating and placing sets into plastic bags at the Volunteer Center.

FOOD DRIVES: The Pantry Partners are coordinating food drives for the weekend of November 18 to 21 at Smart & Final stores in Torrance and Redondo Beach.
