Napa Chamber of Commerce Announces 2016 Candidate Endorsements
Organization Supports Techel, Luros and Aguiar-Curry
The Napa Chamber of Commerce announced today that the organization has endorsed current Mayor Jill Techel for re-election, Mary Luros for City Council and Cecila Aguiar-Curry for State Assembly.

This announcement comes after an extensive process and discussion involving the organization's Candidate Endorsement Committee (CEC), led by Committee Chair Paul Hicks, NCC Board Executive Committee, and NCC Board of Directors.

The Napa Chamber understands the importance of creating a "voice in our community" for our business members and ensuring that they are engaged, connected, informed and confident in making decisions regarding issues and candidates at the local, state and federal levels.

The CEC is a sub-committee of the Board of Director's Legislative Action Committee; a group of dedicated members who volunteer their time to ensure that the candidate endorsement process is consistent with the Chamber's vision, and reflects the best interest of the membership and the greater Napa business community.

Candidates for the upcoming November elections were invited to engage in the CEC process by completing a written questionnaire, and taking part in an in-person interview to discuss their vision and legislative priorities for Napa. Based on the content of the questionnaires, the interviews and the subsequent discussions with the Committee and Board of Directors, the Napa Chamber of Commerce has voted to endorse the following candidates:

Mayor Jill Techel for Mayor, City of Napa
Mary Luros for Napa City Council
Cecilia Aguiar-Curry for State Assembly

Techel, currently serving in her third term as Mayor of Napa, is an avid supporter of the Napa Chamber. Her leadership continues to play an integral role in the growth and sustainability of Napa's business community and economy.

Luros' vision for Napa was very impressive. Her personal viewpoint as a small business owner, mom, lawyer and Vice Mayor offered a unique perspective and understanding of our business community needs.

Aguiar-Curry is a fast-emerging political figure that brings a wealth of knowledge and focus in the area of agricultural. Her track record of diverse economic development will benefit the district.

Additionally, in endorsements announced prior to the June 2016 primary election, the Napa Chamber of Commerce also supports:

Mike Thompson for re-election, House of Representatives
Ryan Gregory for District 2 Napa County Supervisor
Bill Dodd for State Senate
Alfredo Pedroza for District 4 Napa County Supervisor
Belia Ramos for District 5 Napa County Supervisor

The Napa Chamber of Commerce is proud to make these endorsements on behalf of our 1000+ members, representing approximately 25,000 employees throughout Napa Valley.
