Well, it doesn't HAVE to, but... If you leave your PC on at work or home and want it kept from prying eyes, there's a way! Literally hold the Windows key and press the "L" key (see the image). Now your screen is locked - click and enter your password to get back on.
There are some of you who HATE the lock screen, and may want it to go away forever. It can be done, though it's not for the faint of heart. Clicking the image brings up a video to step you through how.
