Metronet is the multicounty multitype library system serving Twin City libraries.

MELSA is a federation of the seven metropolitan Twin Cities county public library systems plus the city of Saint Paul Public Library.

Metronet/MELSA Librarians Receive MLA Awards

Kathleen James, MELSA, was awarded the William G. Asp Distinguished Career Service Award. Kathleen was noted for her work to ensure that Minnesota libraries are part of every community's infrastructure supporting young children's early literacy development & school readiness. She was commended for bringing consistency & rigor to the summer programs for children & young people offered in libraries in small & large communities throughout Minnesota. The award recognized that she accomplished this by "skillfully facilitating consensus among library staff throughout the state. This work required the ability to negotiate contracts with vendors including printers, graphic artists, and performers which resulted in final products that were well-designed and economical."

The MLA 125th Committee that planned the events & activities commemorating the 125th Anniversay of MLA was awarded the MLA President's Award. MELSA/Metronet members of the committee are:
