Staff Spotlight: Leonard
Leonard has been a part of The Gubbio Project family for a couple years now and wanted to share some of his story with you all!
 
Drake: Why the Gubbio Project?

Leonard:  I heard about Gubbio through a friend who was once using the services as a homeless person. I met with Tina and was impressed about what I saw. I like the whole idea about what we're doing and the services that are offered. I never saw that kind of thing and it moved me very much.

Collaboration with USF & City College
The Gubbio Project collaborates with USF & City College this semester!

We want to give a very special thank you to our collaborative partners and the students of USF and City College for donating their valuable time to come spend a few hours at The Gubbio Project each week. From USF, we welcome to Gubbio: Siyuan Liu, Samantha Yu, Ziyi Pan, Travis Cronin, Cristian Monsalud, Rex Hidalgo, and Chelsea Punzalan. From City College we welcome Denise Juarez! We are so excited to have you here with us.

If you are a San Francisco voter please learn more about the San Francisco ballot measures that could positively and negatively impact our brothers and sisters on the streets who are struggling with housing instability.  The link below provides good summaries of each of the ballot initiatives that we are asking our supporters to:

Gubbio in the National Catholic Reporter!
The Gubbio Project was recently featured in the National Catholic Reporter. Read more below.

At the Gubbio Project in San Francisco's Tenderloin District, the watchword is "harm reduction."  ...  If they are suffering from addiction, sometimes the evidence is obvious, even from those adhering to the rules. Still, Gubbio Project staff and volunteers wait for the addicted to come forward seeking help.

"We engage fully with people. We just don't judge them," said Slattery ... "When people don't feel judged, they are more likely to trust you and ask for help."
