October 21, 2016

Dear North Community Catholic School Parents:
Students are coming home with their first quarter grade cards this afternoon.  Included with the grade card is your child's fall NWEA MAP testing report.  If you have any questions about any of the information, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher.  You should have also recently received a form to schedule a parent teacher conference.  Student success is very much dependent upon parent and school partnership.  We hope as many parents as possible will take advantage of conference time.

Halloween is a very big time here at our school.  Each year we have a big parade around Close Park with special guests, the St. John Jesuit Marching Titans.  Our parade this year will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 31.  Please join us around the Close Park circle to view the parade!  Students bring their costumes to school and change into them for the afternoon.  Costumes should not include, masks, blood, gore, or weapons.  Please remember that parents who will be volunteering at parties in the classrooms need to be fully Virtus certified.  Please contact Octavia Wayton in the business office for information.

Have a wonderful weekend!  Fall is definitely in the air.

Peace and Blessings,
Mrs. Beth Strbik
Principal

Parents and kids report that movie night was a ton of fun last week, and it was well-attended! Almost 100 people enjoyed our showing of Zootopia. Special thanks to all our wonderful parent volunteers, and especially Erin Cromly, Queen of Concessions, and her mighty crew of young helpers who kept everyone well-supplied with popcorn and lemonade. Many hands helped, including Lisa Morrissey, Betsy Miller, Melissa & Dave Bernard, Dana Johnson, Larry Cready, Betsy Sarantou, and our excellent maintenance staff.  Thanks everyone for making this event a success from start to finish!

Shopping for groceries, filling the tank with gas, eating at a favorite restaurant....These routine things we do every week have proven to be a great way for Blessed Sacrament parents to shave off money from their child's tuition.  You purchase gift cards or certificates from places you shop at anyway and the discount goes back to your child's tuition.  More than 200 local businesses participate in the SCRIP program.  Families who purchase the certificates can designate that their portion be applied to their tuition bill.  To purchase SCRIP, contact Katie at [email protected] or phone her at 419-438-0476.
