BCA Celtics Night at TD Garden!!!
On Sunday, November 6 at 7:30 pm, the BCA community has been invited to watch a Boston Celtics game as a way to kick off the start of our basketball season! Students, parents, and friends are eligible to purchase tickets for the game for $30. There are only 100 tickets  available for the game. To purchase tickets, please send in a check payable to BCA, and your tickets will be sent home with your student (or you may come in to pick them up yourself).  In addition, our Girls' Varsity 1 & 2 teams will be playing on the court during halftime of the game! There will also be a "Meet & Greet" with our girls and boys basketball players before the game. Gift Card Drive for Amirah House
National Honor Society is raising money for Amirah House, a local non-profit caring for victims of human trafficking. If you would like to donate a $10 gift card for Marshalls, Target, Market Basket, Kohls, Walmart, or Home Depot, please purchase the cards and send/bring them in to the HS main office. Thank you!

MS Soccer Team Playoffs
Come cheer on our awesome MS soccer team!  The first playoff game is on  Tuesday, October 25 at 3:30 pm  at 298 Shawsheen Avenue, Wilmington, MA. The second playoff game will be on  Thursday, October 27 at 3:30 pm  at the same location.  Go Sentinels!

MS Organizational Boot Camp
Mrs. Cottrell will be offering an Organizational Boot Camp for middle school students on  Tuesdays from 3:00 - 3:45 pm With the first quarter coming to a close, managing projects, deadlines, and assignments can be stressful. Becoming organized and knowing how to prioritize is a skill we often need to learn.  If you feel your student could benefit from this support, please email Mrs. Cottrell. In addition, teachers will be assigning this organizational time to students they feel will benefit from this support.

HS CPR & First Aid Class
BCA will offer a CPR & First Aid class for all HS students during Quarter 2. This 8 week class counts as PE credit, and students currently enrolled in a PE class can switch into CPR.  At the end of the class, students will be American Red Cross certified; therefore, students are strongly encouraged to take this class which is a great resume builder and can be helpful for many jobs. HS Ceramics Class Opportunity
There is still time to sign up to participate in a ceramics class with BCA's guest artist in residence. BCA HS students. Students will be sculpting ceramic Christmas ornaments, which will be glazed and hand-fired. Eligible students must sign up with Mrs. Phelps by Wednesday, October 26
The course is limited to 10 students, and sign-ups must be accompanied by a $20 instructional fee (materials included). NOTE: Students who are currently enrolled in Friday's Hip Hop class or Chorus are not eligible to participate.

College Financial Aid Workshops
Juniors, seniors, and their parents are invited to participate in two informational workshops presented by Jack Wang, Financial Coach from Longhorn Financial. The first workshop is entitled "College Financial Aid 101" and will be held on Tuesday, October 25 at 6:00 pm in the Multipurpose Room of the HS. The second workshop is called "Filling Out the FAFSA" and will be held on Thursday, November 3. Please RSVP by clicking here.

Introducing "Kennedy's Corner"--Coffee with Head of School, Vicki Kennedy
All parents are invited to the first "Kennedy's Corner"--an informal time to have coffee & chat with Vicki Kennedy--on Wednesday, October 26 at 8:00 am at the HS. This is a great opportunity to hear from Mrs. Kennedy on her vision for the future of the school and to engage with other parents as well. Please RSVP to Romy Gaiero if you are able to attend.

HS Harvest Costume Ball
Student Council is hosting the first dance of the school year for the HS--a Harvest Costume Ball--on Friday, October 28 from 7:00-10:00 pm. NEW PRICE! The cost to attend is $5. Reminder: no violent, evil, demonic, provocative, or suggestive costumes. Permission slips can be downloaded here.

HS Academy Preview
On Sunday, October 23 at 3:00 pm, BCA will host its first Academy Preview of the school year. This 90 minute program is designed for students interested in coming to BCA for high school. Prospective students will tour the HS building, learn about the academic and co-curricular programs, and meet teachers and students. Please RSVP to Marge Squire in the Admissions Office if you would like to attend. Current BCA 8th graders and their parents are welcome to come!

End of Quarter 1 & Eligibility
Quarter 1 ends October 31. Please remember that eligibility to play basketball, cheer, ski, or participate in the competition play depends on students' Q1 grades. The list of eligible students will be posted by Thursday, November 10.
