The focus will be on the Clo Cow 5k & Half Marathon for the next couple of weeks!

Join us for some training runs, 6-12 miles.  The course is marked already so get out there or join us:

 

Sunday August 14 at 8:00 am

Saturday, August 20 at 8:00 am (in store Clo Cow promotions with Chocolate Milk!!)

Saturday, Sept 3  at 8:00 am

You decide on the distance and we will run along. Bring your own hydration!!! There are no water stations out on the road until race day!

August 28 Santa Rosa Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k.  I'm doing this one!!

Vanilla Poached Peaches
A healthy diet doesn't have to mean skipping dessert. Try this healthy but sweet option. Place 1 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1 vanilla bean split and scraped into a saucepan. Stir the mixture over low heat until the sugar dissolves. Simmer until the mixture thickens, about 10 minutes. Add 4 large peaches, pitted and quartered. Poach over low heat for about 5 minutes. Transfer the peaches into small, decorative bowls. Garnish with mint leaves or a dusting of cinnamon.  Enjoy!

It is hard to believe that Athletic Soles has been in business 10 years!! We opened this store because we believed that Petaluma and the surrounding communities needed a local running/walking store to support their active lifestyles.  The community has embraced Athletic Soles and we in turn have supported the community by giving generously to local charities and schools. 
The Athletic Soles Carousel Fund Run gives 100 percent of all race fees to the charity to help local families with sick children.  We have partnered with Chicken & Cow productions to support the Petaluma Footrace and the Clo Cow half marathon.  It is still a goal to one day bring back the Petaluma Marathon! Keep following us on Facebook for information on training runs, track workouts and runs.
