Fall is gorgeous in Crested Butte. The Aspens change their leaves, the air is cool... you can still hike and bike in the middle of the day but it is nice to do puzzles and sit by the fire too.

Drive over to the Visitor Center at the Rocky Mountain Biology Lab in Gothic! it is a gorgeous drive from Crested Butte.
They conduct science experiments on the health and workings of our high mountain environment. Check out all the ways you can interact with them: Schience and History Tours at 11 a.m and 2 pm and talks at 1 p.m. daily. New!
