Hurricane Irma Updates
NOTE: CANCELLATIONS / POSTPONEMENTS

- The Tidelands Health Fair scheduled for Friday (September 8) has been rescheduled to Friday, November 10, 7:30 AM - 10:30 AM.

- Backpack Mission Food Drive at Lowes Foods on Saturday (September 9) has been postponed until next month on Saturday, October 7, 11 AM - 3 PM.

- The Mary McDonald Concert scheduled for Sunday (September 10) has been postponed to Sunday, November 19, 4 PM.

- The Women's Study scheduled to begin on Monday (September 11) will begin the following Monday, September 18, 6 PM.

Epworth Children's Home

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the special Epworth Children's Home collection last Sunday. We collected over $5,040, which will provide care for the children who call Epworth home. This is a life changing ministry and we thank you for your generosity!


Belin Memorial Golf Tournament

Players and sponsors are still needed for the upcoming golf tournament! Sign up deadline has been extended to Monday, September 18.

Dinner, prizes, and awards ceremony will follow the tournament. Registration forms are now available 
online (CLICK) , in the Family Life Center, and church office. Sign up today!

Belin Memorial's Mission Team is hosting this year's tournament and largest fundraising event of the year. Various sponsorship levels are available including corporate, team, and single player. Proceeds from the tournament will support local, state, and international missions of Belin Memorial.

The Gathering Fellowship Dinners

Bring the whole family for a great meal and fellowship. Cost is $7 adult; $4 ages 3-11; no charge under 3 years.

2018 BOI T-Shirt Design

Be Creative - Let's Hear from You!
Blessing of the Inlet t-shirt designs, concepts, pictures, and ideas are needed for the BOI t-shirt in 2018.

You do not have to be an artist to make a contribution! We have a graphic artist who will help create the final design. The theme is "Love God - Love Others," based on Ephesians 4:32.

Send submissions to [email protected] or to [email protected] by October 1, 2017. The Blessing the Inlet Team will review all ideas and select one for next year's t-shirt.

Students In the Word Benefit Dinner

Gary Gilmore

Coastal Carolina University Baseball Coach Gary Gilmore will be the guest speaker for the Students In The Word benefit dinner and silent auction on October 11.

Gary Gilmore led the CCU baseball team to a NCAA 2016 College World Series Championship and was voted 2016 Coach of the year. You won't want to miss this dinner! Proceeds support Students In The Word, an elective-credit Bible class that serves Waccamaw Middle & High School students.

United Methodist Men Invite You
UMM Kick-Off Meeting

Men and women, young and old, are invited to this special kick-off meeting of the United Methodist Men on September 18! Great food, great fellowship, and a great speaker are in store for you. The cost is $7 per person, payable at the door.

LOGOS will be starting soon for children in grades 1 - 5. Families should register their children and invite their friends!

LOGOS is a four-part program consisting of Bible study, worship skills, recreation/crafts, and family meal time.

The Actor in Me
Wednesdays, September 20 - October 25

This new class offering for kids, ages 8 - 12, will give the acting student an opportunity to develop their confidence, self-awareness, and creativity as they learn about character development and bring to life truthful interpretation of the words written in script. Learn about auditions, scene study, improvisation, movement, monologues, and performance of skits.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
A message from Carolyn Jackson . . .

Thanks to all our knitters who have kept us supplied this summer. Please continue to knit; there is always a need! If you need yarn, let me know. I have some in stock.

Anyone knitting baby caps, we have been given some yarn. Just contact me and I will get it to you.  My number is 843.215.6760.

Remember to drop your completed shawls off at the Family Life Center front desk. Miracle Seekers members will label them and  pray over them before they are distributed.

Seeking Items for Silent Auction
Bar-B-Que and Fall Festival
November 4, 2017

The Silent Auction is an exciting part of the Belin Bar-B-Que and Fall Festival coming up on the first Saturday in November. The Auction Team is currently seeking items for the auction. We need everyone to participate by donating new, like-new, handmade, antique, and collectible items as well as gift certificates for restaurants, entertainment, fishing, golf, spa services, etc. Use your talents and gifts!

Proceeds raised will be used in our community to help our local outreach for families in need.

Items may be dropped off in the Family Life Center on Thursday, November 2, 10 AM - 3 PM. We are getting the word out now so that everyone will have a chance to contribute. Our church is truly blessed with many gifted and talented members. We need you to be a part of this special event in the life of our church.

"The Genesis of Woman"

"The Genesis of Woman: Back to Our Roots" by Tami Weissert is a nine-week study in three parts that will "lead us to surrender our imperfections to God and use our God-given strengths to be the women our Creator intended."

A Note About Parking
Please refrain from parking in the Belin Memorial Cemetery on Sundays during worship services so that we may keep access open for those wishing to visit their departed loved ones. There is ample extra parking in the grass field just north of the church office as needed. Thank you for your consideration and cooperation.

- Reminder, Belin 101 Class begins this Sunday, September 17, at 10 AM in the Family Life Center (five-week introductory class to our United Methodist faith). If you did not RSVP and would like to attend, please call the church office as soon as possible.

- An acolyte training session will be held this Sunday, September 17, at 12:15 PM in The Sanctuary for anyone who missed the prior training session at the end of August.

- Frances Wilson Circle will meet on Monday, September 18, at 6 PM in the Family Life Center. Please bring items for Baby Express.

- Join us for the next Rollie Hanna Breakfast on Wednesday, September 20, at 8:30 AM in the Family Life Center. We look forward to a great breakfast and devotion by Lloyd Hatton.


- Grab a Green Sack Hunger bag this SundayBelin's Backpack Mission has begun food distribution to local area school and will continue throughout the school year. Purchase food items to put in the bag and return it to the sanctuary or Family Life Center.
 
- A new dance/drama team is starting up to perform during special occasions at The Harbor worship services. If you would like to join, please contact Dori Grimes (843.213.9155) or Katharine Bond (843.798.0511) via phone call or text.

Commemorative bricks are on sale through October 1 for $150 to generate funding for the new  Waterfront Beautification Project . Brick order forms are available to pick up in the church office, Family Life Center, or online (CLICK).
