I am called by Jesus, or rather commanded by Jesus, to serve children and youth. I mean this literally; in Matthew 19, Mark 10, and Luke 18, Jesus shares the Kid Commandment. I have been commanded by Jesus to keep no child from him because children are the keepers of his kingdom. My calling is to advocate for children and youth as equal, or perhaps even the most important, members in the body of Christ. As such I am devoted to uplifting kids, teenagers, and young adults as church leaders. I am committed to finding and fashioning the best faith formation materials for these young people. Most importantly, I am inspired to serve alongside these current and future leaders of the church as they do God's work in the world.

3. What is one fact about you that would surprise people?

From the length of my hair and my general goofiness you might think that I'm some kind of rock musician when in fact I'm a bit musically challenged. I am attempting to grow and have recently taken up the guitar, but I still get some surprised looks when I pick up that guitar and look the part but start strumming away like a beginner.  

Pardon my cliché but we should be keeping our eyes on the horizon. By that I mean we should be forward-looking and aware of what's coming. The world is sitting on the edge of a vast technological revolution that promises to change many aspects of our lives including our very understanding of life or what it means to be human. Young people need to be spiritually prepared for these changes before they happen.  They will face a strange new world and it is literally our job to help them form a faith to navigate and lead that world.
