10th Annual Rockport Film Festival
November 3-5, 2016
Rockport Film Festival brings a weekend of independent cinema to Rockport!
FORTY INDEPENDENT FILMS DURING 3-DAY FESTIVAL
The Festival will kick off with a Red Carpet Party and outdoor screening on Thursday, November 3, at the 1867 RH Wood House, one of the oldest homes in Rockport that has been meticulously renovated by Anne & Jeff Hunt of Austin, Texas. The party will debut 1867 RH Wood House as rental property and event space. The Red Carpet Party is the premiere social event for Rockport in the Fall season, featuring a cocktail hour catered by local restaurants and sponsored by Tequila Cavalino and concluding with an outdoor screening under the stars.

The Festival continues Friday and Saturday with over 40 films from across the globe. Every year, more than 200 entries are submitted from around the world - Cyprus, Germany, Hungary, India, New Zealand, Philippines, Turkey, Italy, Japan, Korea, Azerbaijan, France, Greece, Netherlands - including a growing selection of films from Texas filmmakers and directors.  All screenings Friday and Saturday will take place at Cinema 4 in Rockport

Launch and kickoff will be held at the Nov. 17 at the upcoming Business After Hours at Elegancia Salon beginning at 5pm.  Come listen and learn! Otherwise, participate in the fun on Sat. November 26 by visiting the businesses listed in the newspaper ad and pick up as many "Round Abouts" as you can. Then head to Shop the World to turn them in. Rockport Little Theatre
"Best Little Whorehouse in Texas"
Nov. 4, 5, 11. 12, 18, 19, - 7pm and Sunday Mattinees 3pm - Nov. 6, 13, 20  - A font of fun and friendliness, engagingly rich in regional nostalgia and spiced with delicate bawdry. The country and western score is a delight. This happy go lucky view of small town vice and statewide political side-stepping recounts the good times and the demise of the Chicken Ranch, known since the 1850s as one of the better pleasure palaces in all of Texas. Governors, senators, mayors, and even victorious college football teams frequent Miss Mona's cozy bordello until that puritan nemesis Watchdog focuses his television cameras and his righteous indignation on the institution.
