Association News
Alberta Springs a success

We had 75 golfers at Alberta Springs golf tournament August 30,  enjoying the great course and weather.

Congratulations to Stephanie Hill from World Class Contracting for winning the 50/50 - the other half went to Calgary Food Bank. Chris Gaucher for IPEX won the door prize which was a BBQ from ATCO.

We couldn't run these successful events without the help of our generous sponsors. A big thank you goes out to Milwaukee Tools, Mynmax, Marking Services Canada, World Class Contracting, Goldbar Contractors, Engineered Air, Investors Group, U.A. Local 496, Independent supply, Jim Pattison Lease and Flocor for sponsoring our skill holes. ATCO supplied the door prize and golf balls I am sure we didn't lose any of them. We sold mulligan tickets that raised $550 for MCA of Alberta's Education Development Fund. Thank you to all the golfers that brought prizes and showed up to golf.

New energy code application checklist and fee requirements

With the implementation of the provincial energy code, the City is continuously working with the industry to listen and address comments. ABC 9.36 requirements are continuously being communicated; as such, the inspection process is now being formalized to charge additional fees for energy code deviations. These are cases where building envelope details that are not being built to plan, air barriers that do not meet the compliance route requirements, or where deviation from heating and hot water system requirements are found. A re-examination fee of $250 will be charged for energy code deviations.
