Board Study Session Discussion
Kindergarten Readiness
Fifty educators and community joined together a board study session on kindergarten readiness Wednesday night. The audience included district principals, preschool and kindergarten teachers, private preschool providers, library representatives and others involved with early learning. The group discussed a series of questions in small groups with board members. The study session resulted in good conversation about what kindergarten readiness means and what educators and parents can do to prepare children for school between birth and age 5.  Kindergarten readiness is one of the pillars of KSDE's #KANSANSCAN vision. We will continue to discuss this topic and begin planning next steps as a result of the feedback received from the board study session
