New Executive Members Elected to Student Advisory Board

The board held its first meeting on October 27th and are excited to present events and workshops for MEM students and alums. SAB's first event of the year was part of the Second Fridays Series in which students took an excursion downtown for the Chicago River Architecture Tour on October 15th.

Now Offering Five-Week Courses
Applicable topics of student interest include Marketing Analytics & Leadership

Beginning this spring, MEM will offer 5-week, half-credit courses. Utilizing 5-week courses will allow the MEM Program to offer current and relevant topics chosen by students, keeping them on the cutting edge of technology and management. Topics offered in the spring include:
  • Marketing Analytics: Preparing start-ups to understand their markets and maximize the value of their products.
  • Leadership by Design: An experiential course developing leadership skills that will help students keep up with the constant demand for innovation and collaboration.

MEM is looking to continually grow the program with exceptional students that will add interesting perspectives to the  MEM student body. Some of our best students come from alumni referrals, so if you know talented colleagues who are looking to take their career to the next level, please share information regarding an upcoming Information Session.  

Over the next month, MEM will host both on-campus and online information sessions!

MEM graduate, Linda Tam ('01), works as the Director of Quality at Hydrox Laboratories, a health and beauty product manufacturer in Elgin, IL.  Prior to enrolling in the MEM program, she received a Bachelor's degree in Health Science at Rush University and a Master's degree in Biology at Illinois Institute of Technology.  Outside of the lab, Linda enjoys designing and creating jewelry and fashion accessories.  We asked her a few questions about her MEM experience and how it has impacted her career.

Ivonne Friday , MEM Student

Part-time MEM student, Ivonne Friday, is originally from Cuenca, Ecuador, where she was an avid basketball player.  She earned her Bachelor's degree in civil engineering at the University of Cuenca, before pursuing a Master's degree in civil and environmental engineering at Michigan State University.  Ivonne now works at the US Compliance Corporation where she is Environmental Health and Safety Advisor.
