The Children's Trust Announces

POST-HURRICANE IRMA UPDATE

We hope you've made it safely through the storm! The Children's Trust remains closed in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma as we work toward resuming operations; we will reopen on Monday, September 18 . In the meantime, kindly note:

  • We would like to quickly assess your agency's operational status. To make this more convenient and efficient for all, the United Way is sharing its "Post-Hurricane Irma Agency Status" survey with Trust providers. As soon as you are able, please go to www.unitedwaymiami.org/agencystatus and complete the survey, ideally by noon on Friday, September 15.
  • The Trust is not currently budgeted to fund hurricane relief for repairs, although the United Way survey asks about these details. Our primary purpose in utilizing the survey is to know what services are or will be available for children and families in the next several days and weeks, without adding to the number of surveys providers must complete. If you have already completed the survey because you are a United Way-funded agency, you do not need to complete it again.
  • If you operate more than one Trust-funded service site, please note any differences by site in the open text survey questions that relate to staff, repairs and/or resources as appropriate. Let us know clearly which sites are operational, and which sites are damaged/nonoperational.
  • If your agency can utilize volunteers as part of your cleanup efforts, please note this in the final question of the survey.
  • The first TRIM meeting, originally slated for Monday, September 11, has been rescheduled for Monday, September 18, 5:01-6 p.m. A short board meeting will immediately precede TRIM, from 4:30-5 p.m.
  • The second TRIM meeting, originally slated for Monday, September 18, has not yet been rescheduled.
  • Invoicing was suspended last week and will begin again when we reopen.
  • During relief and recovery efforts, the usual provider bulletin format has been suspended; it will resume on September 27.

More details regarding Trust operations will be forthcoming under separate cover. Until then, thank you - as always - for your partnership and service in our community to support children and families, especially in this time of even greater need.

Stay safe!
