Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 1 Corinthians 12: 12
October 28, 2016
Dear North Community Catholic School Families:
Autumn has seemed to really settle in. The temperatures are chillier, and the mornings stay dark for longer. It's still quite dark as the students are arriving to school. It is very important that everyone be mindful of students walking to school. Please be cautious when navigating the driveways, parking lot, and drop off zones because it can be difficult to see the students walking.
Halloween is a very big time here at o
ur school. Each year we have a big parade around Close Park with special guests, the St. John Jesuit Marching Titans. Our parade this year will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 31. Please join us around the Close Park circle to view the parade! Students bring their costumes to school and change into them for the afternoon. Costumes should not include, masks, blood, gore, or weapons. Please remember that parents who will be volunteering at parties in the classrooms need to be fully Virtus certified. Please contact Octavia Wayton in the business office for information.
Next week we have no
school on Thursday or Friday. Thursday is our parent-teacher conference day. Students in K-5 have scheduled conference times, and your student should have brought home your slip with your assigned time. Students in grades 6-8 have student-led conferences which are on a drop-in basis. You may drop in for those at any point during the scheduled conference hours. Teachers in grades K-5 will be located in the Stoiber-Holzer gym this year and the teachers of grades 6-8 will be in the Kelly Room. Specials teachers such gym, art, computer, Spanish, religion, intervention, etc. will also be in the gym.
Have a wonderful weekend! Remember the Greater Close Park Neighborhood Association Halloween Parade is this Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Close Park. This neighborhood tradition always proves to be a fun family event.
Peace and Blessings,
Mrs. Beth Strbik
Principal

Shopping for groceries, filling the tank with gas, eating at a favorite restaurant....These routine things we do every week have proven to be a great way for Blessed Sacrament parents to shave off money from their child's tuition. You purchase gift cards or certificates from places you shop at anyway and the discount goes back to your child's tuition. More than 200 local businesses participate in the SCRIP program. Families who purchase the certificates can designate that their portion be applied to their tuition bill. To purchase SCRIP, contact Katie at [email protected] or phone her at 419-438-0476.
