Hours Change - Market opens at 9am!

Starting this Saturday, Hollywood Farmers Market's hours will change to 9am - 1pm.  Please remember not to show up early; vendors will not be able to sell before the opening bell. Enjoy the extra hour of leisure in your morning! :)

It's October and while some seasons wind down, others are just getting started. Make sure to stop by Mt. Hood Organic Farms and sample all the certified organic biodynamically grown orchard fruit they have to offer.  ProFarm Produce also has their delicious three-apple-variety blend of fresh pressed cider, and after a sample you'll be sure to take a bottle home. Unger Farms is back for one more week, so get those berries while you can.

On the vegetable front the forecast is looking good; heavy with tomatoes, eggplant, peppers and squash with a burst of fall brassicas (broccoli, cauliflower, turnips, kales) throughout.

Take a stroll down the center row in the Grocery Outlet parking lot, and say hello to our newest arrival to market Atlas Cider from Bend, OR. They will be sampling hard ciders made from Oregon grown fruit, sure to warm you up on a chilly fall day. While your there stock up on peaches and nectarines from M aryhill Fruit Company, it's their last week here and your last chance for summer stone fruits.

 If you've been holding onto any dull blades, tomorrow is the time to bring them out. Gabriel with Dragonfly Forge will be sharpening like mad from 9am-1pm, and he returns again on October 15th. Also back this week are Stone Barn Brandyworks, Portland Bitters Project, Ken & June's Hazelnuts and Sage & Seas Farms.

 
 

Join Friends of Family Farmers on Friday, October 7 to show your support for FoFF's Portland area events that focus on local food and farms, including InFARMation, Fill Your Pantry, farm visits, hands on workshops, and much more. They facilitate educational experiences for urban consumers so you know who is growing your food and, with that knowledge, feel empowered to speak up for the food system you want to see in Oregon.

They will have some awesome silent auction items available for the taking, too! Products have been donated from: Patagonia, Breitenbush Hot Springs, Naomi's Organic Farm Supply, Equal Exchange, Coava Coffee, Worthy Brewing, Duck Pond Cellars, Dove Vivi Pizza, Nel Centro and more yet to come!

Tickets are $20 for the general public and $15 for farmers. Price of tickets includes pizza & salad from Dove Vivi Pizza, one drink ticket for your choice of beer or wine, ice cream, chocolate, music, and a raffle ticket. All that, and a donation to FoFF, too! Additional drink tickets may be purchased for $4. Ages 21 and over.
