July 30th ~ "Brave" with Cindy Lou Harrington
Brave. It is usually associated with going into a conflict and danger, as in a war. Standing up, standing out, or standing your ground in situations where your life is at risk. Yet the greatest acts of bravery historically have been in recognizing what isn't working or isn't right, and speaking out for change. Harrington's "Music with a Message" will challenge us to look at ourselves and apply the concept of bravery in our everyday lives in discovering what we have to offer. Spiritual leader and musician Cindy Lou Harrington will present three steps to create the courage to be brave; to recognize and become who we truly are so we can bring our gifts to the world.

11:00 to 12:15: Sunday Service with a message by Rev. Bronte Colbert, talented guest musicians and on occasion, guest speakers
Sunday School / Youth Education is held during the 11:00 service
Prayer Chaplain Peggy Olson is available to pray with you after service on most Sundays.

Wednesday, August 23! Shivabalananda & Vidya at Unity Athens
Shivabalananda and his wife Vidya from Bangalore, India are on US Tour 2017 offering free
meditation programs. They will be at Unity Athens for an evening program on Wednesday, Aug 23, from 6:30 to about 8:00. Meditation programs are about ninety minutes long with a short introduction, silent meditation for forty-five minutes and questions & answers and personal blessings by Shivabalananda. Attendees may sit on chairs or cushions or whatever is most comfortable. Family friendly. All are welcome: children, teens, seniors and the physically challenged. Each meditator receives a small packet of holy ash for their meditation practice and a Meditation Instruction sheet after completing the meditation. There is never any charge for this meditation program.
Town Hall Meeting Sunday, August 27:
There will be a Town Hall Meeting right after the 11:00 service, starting at 1:00, for members, congregants, and all interested in Unity Athens' plans, progress, and financial status. This meeting will last about one hour and a light lunch will be served.

ANNUAL UMMAS MOUNTAINTOP RETREAT - All are welcome! September 26 to 29: Starts Tuesday evening and ends Friday at noon. Fellowship, learning, laughter, food, music, nature, rocking chairs, cool breezes -- an uplifting, educational, musical, memorable, laid-back, fun gathering of Unity friends from the southeast and beyond. This Blue Ridge Mountains Kanuga Conference Center has a recently renovated 62-room Inn and historic cabins in the woods. Details and registration forms here!
