Thank you to Consolidated Communications for awarding a grant to ClassE to help enhance the class experience and build upon our mentor program. The check was presented at the at the Mattoon Area Community Foundation's breakfast this Wednesday.

Location: Lifespan Center (unless noted below), 11021 E. Cty. Rd. 800 N. Charleston (Loxa Rd just northeast of SBLHS).  Class is open and everyone is welcome. 
Creating a Storyboard for a Promotional Video

ClassE alumni Cole Diepholz visited the class and told about his business Diepholz Films. He shoots promotional videos for small businesses in the area. He discussed attaching his camera on drones and cars to get the movement in his videos.

The students each took a turn in front of the camera recording testimonials that we will use in the video and on our social media outlets.
                                                                     

Scheduling & Multiple Site Selling  
This week, we discussed capitalism versus socialism and how we can motivate the students to sell the spirit sippers. The class will be selling at Parent Teacher Conferences this week and also at the MHS football game.
Networking at the Mattoon Area Community Foundation Breakfast

Ashley Pearcy and Ms. Dau accepted the check on behalf of ClassE. We learned about the role of a regional foundation from Joedy Hightower, Executive Director of the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation and networked with the business community.
                
How Banks Work with Businesses

Jerry McCoy, Russ Spitz and all of the employees at Washington Savings Bank welcomed the class to see the inner working of the banking industry.  The students can now name about six different products that can be acquired at a lending institution and what commercial lenders look for in a business plan.
