NFA AMICA Award Goes to Mary Harper of Fibromyalgia Association of Houston
The word "AMICA" is Latin for "friend" and there is no question that for many years Mary Harper has been a friend to the National Fibromyalgia Association, the members of the Fibromyalgia Association of Houston and the fibromyalgia community at large. To read NFA founder, Lynne Matallana's, letter to Mary and see pictures of each with the award, click here.

Mary is the retiring president of the Fibromyalgia Association of Houston Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. For 16 years she worked with her board to run this large and influential support group. The NFA's Elizabeth Mesic interviewed Mary, who offered 10 Great Tips for Support Groups. A good read, especially for those forming new support groups!

Tired of Popping Pills for Pain?
Roberta Fernandez is a board-certified hypnotist and certified instructor at the FARE Hypnosis Center in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and she is literally her own "walking" testimonial for hypnosis. Roberta explains how hypnosis can be the perfect complement to your doctor's pain management protocol, with no negative side effects or addiction. To read more about how you can easily learn to utilize the natural power of your mind to take back control of your comfort level through self-hypnosis, click here for the article.
