The Lord is My Shepherd - THAT'S RELATIONSHIP
I shall not want - THAT'S SUPPLY

The month of August signals the end of summer and the exodus of young folk (and some of us older folk) returning to school. I have had the privilege of working with some terrific younger worship leaders who will be heading back to school in a few weeks. I know we will all miss their contributions on Sunday morning and look forward to holidays and vacations when they will be back worshipping with our church family. Take some time to thank them for their music ministry before they leave! (Jonathan, Lorenzo, and Gabe ... you will be missed, and we will be praying for you!)
With that in mind, if you would like to be a member of the worship team in any capacity, come and talk to me. We will be missing that violin of Jon's so if you have one you can dust off, come join the team. We also need volunteers to help with collecting the offering and distributing communion. Gary Beaver would also appreciate help with communion preparation and clean up. A signup sheet will be on the bulletin board if you would like to be a part.
I thought I'd share the words to this beautiful hymn with you. They have been such a comfort to me in the past couple of weeks. No matter what we face in life, even the death of someone, the Holy Spirit is a spring of life within us, watering our souls and causing a new song to overflow in worship.

Ongoing Discipleship Opportunities
We have several ongoing discipleship opportunities.
We encourage you to join us for fellowship and learning!
Sunday School Class: (Sunday at 9 am). Join us in the education wing classroom for adult Sunday School.
Men's Bible Study: (Wednesday at 6:30 pm). SUSPENDED FOR THE SUMMER - WILL BEGIN MEETING AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER. The men meet in the classroom of the education wing building for a deeper study of the scripture. Contact Luis Carrazana at 434-989-8862 for more information.
Young Men's Bible Study - Thursday evenings at 7:30 in the parsonage. See Lorenzo Carrazana for details.
Ladies - Stay Tuned - September Event. Plans for a ladies September event will be announced in the Sunday worship guide. Look for more information in the upcoming weeks.

Youth and Young Adults (ages 12-18)
August is always a busy month for students. With the mission trip to Thomasville, NC starting off the month and the youth pastor position becoming vacant, there are some big events happening just before the students head back to school. This August is a month of transition for everyone. Prayers for the Lord's guidance and anointing on a new youth pastor are greatly appreciated.
With all the changes, the most important is that of the youth. Over the past month, we have been learning the five-step method of accurate Bible interpretation. The students have been reading passages in the Bible and pulling out valuable principles that we have been talking about and asking the Lord to help us grow. We are trusting the Lord for more growth and great adventures to follow! All students middle and high school age are welcome to join the youth on Sunday evening from 5 to 7 for food, fun, and a great time in God's Word
