Any questions - call Jan Foster,

Food Pantry
Both food pantries continue to seek personal care items like toothpaste, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner, and women's personal products.

These items will be our July focus, however, as always whatever the congregation brings in is never turned away!

Men's First Light Collaborative
On Saturday, August 5, we start a 10 week study - Twelve Ordinary Men: How the Master Shaped His Disciples for Greatness, and What He Wants to Do with You by John F. MacArthur

Contrary to popular belief, we do not have to be perfect to do God's work. Look no further than the twelve disciples whose many weaknesses are forever preserved throughout the pages of the New Testament. Jesus chose ordinary men - fishermen, tax collectors, political zealots - and turned their weakness into strength, producing greatness from utter uselessness. MacArthur draws principles from Christ's careful, hands-on training of the original twelve disciples for today's modern disciple - you.

Breakfast starts at 7:00 a.m. next to the kitchen. Please contact us  to be sure we have enough bacon for all.
Guide Book & Directory Advertising Opportunity
We are in the process of updating our annual Guide Book & Directory for the church. This book will contain everything pertinent to our church: the various ministries, organizations, committees, activities, functions and events plus a complete directory of all members. This book is being provided and direct-mailed to each family at no cost to our church, and it is again being subsidized by local businesses that advertise. If you own or manage a business and would like to find out about advertising in our book, please contact the Church Office at: 630-668-5147.

Recent survey results by Guide Book Publishing show that 92.1% of families would rather patronize a Guide Book & Directory advertiser over a non-advertiser. It "will pay" to advertise in our new Guide Book & Directory
News from Buildings and Grounds
Our Facility Manager, Scott Rice will be returning from his tour of duty this month, and back to First Pres at the end of August.

There is a long list of "to dos" waiting for him and we will be glad to have him back. In the meantime, with the consistent help of Randy Foster and Miguel Barrera, we have managed all of the regular property maintenance and various unexpected property issues, including replacement of our ice maker, replacement of the freezer, repair on the dishwasher, new signs for the parking lot adding spaces for special needs on Sundays, a banner for our Psalm Series installed above our corner sign, slate roofing repairs, steeple window leaks & repairs, repair of broken sanctuary windows & lower entryway door glass, removal of trees and tree trimming, relocating a family of skunks, and many more.

We are grateful for this generous congregation and your consistent giving that provides the means for us to care for this church building.
FPC Book Club
Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult is our FPC summer book club read for August.  "Ruth Jefferson is a labor and delivery nurse at a Connecticut hospital. During her shift, Ruth begins a routine checkup on a newborn, only to be told a few minutes later that she's been reassigned to another patient. The parents are white supremacists and don't want Ruth, who is African American, to touch their child. The hospital complies with their request, but the next day, the baby goes into cardiac distress while Ruth is alone in the nursery. Does she obey orders or does she intervene?"  Grab this book, sit back and enjoy this page turner.

Then join us on Thursday, August 31st, 7:00 p.m. in the Parish House living room for fellowship and great book discussion.
Questions? Please contact Mary Kinsey 630-668-5147 x20.
