Port of Seattle Votes to Host Encampment
New Tent City 5 Site Pending City Approval

Great News!  We have a new partner, the Port of Seattle, working with us to end homelessness!   Thank you to Port Commissioners who took a unanimous vote today to lease their vacant land by the Magnolia Bridge to the City of Seattle so that Tent City 5, SHARE's Interbay Encampment, will have a new site to move to in November. The Port's site is at 1601-15th Ave. N.

Tent City 5's two years stay at their existing Interbay site is up in November.  Up to 35 tiny houses will be located at the Port site.  Volunteers are already working to get the tiny houses built!  For more info on how you can help donate supplies or volunteer, visit Donate and Get Involved.

LIHI's award-winning Marion West is up for another award in the City of Seattle Design Review Program People's Choice Award in the low-rise category.  Vote Now!  Voting ends September 22, 2017.

The Marion West, a mixed-use project in the University District, opened in June, 2016. This innovative project brings together multiple, synergistic community benefits under one roof.

LIHI's housing includes 49 studio apartments: 20 affordable apartments for homeless young adults (ages 18 to 24) and 29 apartments for low-wage workers entering the workforce.  YouthCare and Ryther provide onsite supportive services.

Food Bank: The ground floor houses the University District Food Bank, greatly expanding their capacity to feed needy families in the area. The Food Bank uses the roof for urban agriculture by growing vegetables and herbs.

Job Training Café: Street Bean Coffee has a location on the ground floor. Street Bean trains and employs young people seeking to exit street life.
