This Saturday: Clean the coast, then dance in the streets!
California Coastal Cleanup, Spirit & Soul Festival 
Start the day Saturday by cleaning our beautiful shoreline and waterways with thousands of other volunteers at the annual California Coastal Cleanup.

This is my 27th year of sponsoring the Richmond Marina shoreline cleanup, based at Shimada Friendship Park. There are several other clean-up sites in the region. ( Details below.)

End the day celebrating outside in downtown Richmond at the 9th annual Spirit & Soul Festival from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with live music, dancing, refreshments, art, and youth activities. 

What: Supervisor Gioia's 27th Annual Coastal Cleanup 
When:   9 am - 12 pm, Saturday,  Sept.16 
Where: Shimada  Friendship Park, end of Marina Bay Pkwy, Richmond
More: Morning coffee, snacks, supplies.  Please bring gloves, refillable water bottles, and a debris bucket if you have one. Free lunch at noon.

All volunteers are invited to Shimada Friendship Park for a free, healthy lunch at noon.

After cleaning the shore, head to downtown Richmond for a street festival.
