On Friday, September 29th, during the AM at Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center, the Chamber will have its Annual Membership Meeting. Members will vote on the slate of nominees for the 2018 Board of Directors. All members are invited to attend and vote.

September is World Alzheimer's Month and September 21 is World Alzheimer's Day, a good opportunity to raise awareness of connections between memory, cognitive function, and hearing loss. Hearing loss is now linked to Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia. According to several major studies, older adults with hearing loss are more likely to develop Alzheimer's disease and dementia, compared to those with normal hearing and the risk escalates as a person's hearing loss grows worse. 2017 Soroptimist Teddy Bear Parade
 
Come to Historic Downtown Gresham for the annual Teddy Bear Parade. Saturday, September 30th at 10:00 am. Floats, marching bands, classic cars, live animals, clowns and more. Click here for an application and to view the parade route.

In honor of the 35th year of Gresham's beloved Teddy Bear Parade, the community is invited to help welcome a new, 3 1/2 foot bronze Teddy Bear sculpture to Historic Downtown Friday, September 29th, 5:30-7:30 pm, 3rd Street and Main Avenue. The public art is a gift to the community celebrating the tradition of the Teddy Bear Parade from Soroptimist International of Gresham and the Bemis family. The event will feature music and light refreshments. Everyone's encouraged to bring their favorite teddy bears to the unveiling. Soroptimist will be collecting teddy bear donations Friday night and Saturday at the parade for the Trauma Intervention Program (TIP).

Soroptimist International of Gresham is in need of volunteers to help with the parade on Saturday, September 30th from 7:30-12:00 pm. Application forms can be obtained by emailing sigvolunteer@gmail.com. Please respond by September 22nd.
