Letter from the Principal
Dear Saint Theresa School Families,

We are experiencing some financial hardship because of families not honoring their payment schedules. This is not because of lack of enrollment or resources, but rather due to some families not paying on time.

This practice MUST end. We need a commitment from every parent to keep tuition payments current. Saint Theresa School is not in a position to continue accepting late tuition payments or to keep students enrolled when there is past tuition due.

Please note that with the Bishop's Scholarship and the CEO grants, Saint Theresa School is currently providing over $150,000 in financial assistance. In order to continue providing this level of assistance, it is critical that we show that St. Theresa School is on solid financial grounds.

Effective immediately, the school will follow the diocesan policy on charging late fees and filing for withdrawal on accounts that are regularly past due. Please feel free to see me if you wish to see or discuss the diocesan tuition policy.

Please keep in mind that this is the year that Bishop Caggiano is reviewing all diocesan schools carefully to assess their financial vitality and decide on their future standing. It is critical that we show a strong and viable school.

I thank you all in advance for taking this matter seriously and for doing your part in helping the school remain financially sound.

Give the gift of your time in the School Library
magic_stars_book.jpg
Do you have an hour or two to give to the school?
The Library program needs v olunteers to assist in the library for shifts on Wednesdays between 9-12:30 or Thursdays between 9-12:45.  You can sign up for the full time or a shorter shift if needed.  It's a great way to spend a little time with our students helping them find books, read to the class, and do a little re-shelving.

Please call the office to speak to Mrs. Ornella.

DID YOU KNOW: Mrs. Tamarkin's second volunteer job at St. Theresa's was in the library? She loved getting to know all of the students!  Can you guess what her first one was???

WALK-A-THON 2016 Thank yous!
THE WALK A THON COMMITTEE WOULD LIKE TO START BY SAYING A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED IN THIS ANNUAL EVENT!  If you were there, we were blessed with a beautiful day filled with family and fun.  If you were not there but still found it in your heart to donate to this great place we call our second home, our thanks to you!!

The Walk-A-Thon funds are used to help support some of the costs, which tuition does not cover. We will continue to work together throughout the year to raise funds to help keep tuition at an affordable rate.

We are in the process of planning a spring 2017 Event which could be one of the biggest events we have ever held, so keep your eyes open and be ready!! Together we make a difference!

Halloween Party - Tomorrow is the last day to sign up!
Please remember this event is for students and their immediate families only.  Students may not run in the school during the party in order to keep everyone safe.
Thank for for keeping the Halloween party a wonderful St. Theresa tradition.

Updates from the HSA General Meeting
Stop and Shop Cards
We would like to remind our families that we sell Stop and Shop cards in the office any day of the week.  Every purchase of a Stop and Shop card yields a 5% donation back to the school.  This is a great way for us to make a little every day.  Also, if you register your Stop and Shop courtesy card with St. Theresa's school code (available at Stop and Shop) we also receive donations through their A+ Program.
If you think you would like to help sell Stop and Shop cards here at school one morning a week, please let the office know.

Room Parents
Some of you have been asked to be the room parent(s) for your child's class this year.  We will be forwarding you a list of teacher staff birthdays so you can help acknowledge your teacher's special day.  The HSA will keep you informed of upcoming events which we need your help in communication to your child's classroom.  Don't forget to share your teacher's wish lists with family and friends.  Together we can make a difference for our teachers who continue to help our children grow every day!

Breakfast with Santa
This event is usually held the first Saturday morning in December and is a full breakfast, crafts and games, a raffle and a visit from St. Nick himself!!  We are looking for 2 people to chair this event with approximately 4 additional adult volunteers.  The people who previously chaired this event will be happy to offer you all the information and Mrs. Connelly usually does the breakfast.  If you think you would like to take on this event, please let us know in the next 2 weeks.  You can send a note in with your child Attention to the HSA or email us at hsa@stesonline.org .  Thank You very much!!!

Fifth Grade Gets Artistic Inspirations
Mrs. Guimont's 5th grade class is reading Native American Legends and researching tribes of North America. Inspired by the book The Legend of the Indian Paintbrush by Tomie dePaola, the students spent time outside and painted fall scenery using primitive paintbrushes and "natural colors".
Tech Talk
The middle school is just completing their unit on Digital Citizenship.  In this feature the 7th grade will be sharing D.C. vocabulary and the 8th grade will share their marketing campaigns to increase D.C. awareness.
